Aqua Aerobics is a wonderful class for swimmers and non swimmers of all fitness levels. If you have never exercised, have joint aches and pains, have arthritis or would love to get a great workout and mix up your usual exercise routine, we have a class for you. Aqua aerobic classes have most of the fat burning and endurance building benefits that you get from other forms of aerobic activity. An aqua aerobics class will allow you to burn between 350 and 700 calories in a one hour class due to the increased resistance to movement in the water.
Aqua aerobic benefits include :
• Great for all fitness levels
• Good for weight loss/fat burning
• Builds strength and flexibility
• Excellent cardio respiratory exercise
• Reduced impact on joints
• Tones muscles
• Improved balance and posture
• Increase flexibility, reducing capability for injury
The Aquatics center offers day and evening aqua aerobics classes as well as arthritis aquatic classes and pre natal/post natal aqua aerobics classes. See schedule below, call 803-817-POOL (7665) or visit www.upymca.org for class times or information.
